1.    You have been one of the most renowned names in your field in Kolkata. Tell us how you built your brand story?

We started with the brand in Kolkata in the year 1995. We had started with metal works and various metal products. The company appreciated the rich and diverse culture of the city; the best artisans it boasts and their distinguished craftsmanship! We wanted to show the city the concept of an aesthetically designed, lifestyle showroom which has never been seen in Kolkata before.

2.    What is special about Spacio furniture? 
We started the brand in Kolkata in the year 1995. Our products are exquisitely handpicked from as many as 20 different countries from around the world. We, at our state-of-the-art designed showroom strive to give our customers a world class shopping experience. It is a tribute to the aesthetic excellence and global spirit of the people of this city.

Our collection prides itself on three things: We have handpicked collectibles from across the globe but at the same time offer our customers’ value for money. Our experience is of more than a decade and a half helps us understand the desires of the contemporary buyers. We research the recent global trends and cater likewise to our customer’s needs.

3.    Tell us about the recent trends in interior design and furniture selection?  What kind of furniture do people like now?

The trend that is in right now on global front is the ‘Back to Basics’ trend. The old world charms are coming back in fashion with a twist. Modern elements are merged and the focus is on merging the new with the old.

Modern elements like copper and gold are on a rise, while steel is losing its luster. Contemporary customers do not like monotonous things; they are hooked on global trends and change their home décor on a seasonal basis. Warmer colors are appreciated.

4.    Tell us about your most significant achievements?

Our most significant achievement is to successfully bring around twenty International brands to India, and the bouquets of these brands are increasing gradually. As a company we are successful in convincing these International brands to India.

5.    What are your signature projects? Tell us about their specialty?  

We are associated with various high profile residencies in Mumbai and Hyderabad. We are also associated with renowned hotels like J. W Marriot, Hyatt, I.T.C and so on.

6.     How has being a member of ABID helped you?

We started our journey with ABID Interiors. Our first public appearance was with Abid Interiors show. We came into the limelight with show and garnered a huge response. Not only the audience, but the architects and all the forum members associated with this organization has encouraged us a lot.

7.    What suggestions do you have for the industry?

Let us all be creative and use all the available resources to their fullest extent. International trends should be followed and we should help bring in world-class designs in to the city at honest prices. Most important of all, we should use eco-friendly products and do our bit for the nature!
