Serip metal door

Origem Handrail
Inspired by nature’s language

The starting point, the beginning, the source, the trunk of the offspring. The origin that brings together a concept. Joining the inspiration into a singular and unique form that translates Serip’s language creating a piece that establishes the core of the tailor-made and diffuses the particular way how the brand expresses herself. Serip present the ‘Origem’ handrail, nailing their roots to the ground. Material: Bronze

Vogel Door Handle
Inspired by moon craters

Inspired by the lunar surface, Vogel handle was named after a small moon crater, establishing the connection with the pattern composed by thousands of tiny craters, producing shades and unique forms that print the Serip’s signature using singular organic patterns. This piece reproduces several nature impacts, resulting from the touch of other celestial bodies with thousands and millions of years. Creating unique forms that can be discovered and rediscovered in every touch and every look.  Material: Bronze

Torso door handle
Inspired by curves of a tree

Inspired by the way a torso wriggles, creating new curves that balance all the shafts and twists. This shape looks like a tree trunk dancing to the sound of the wind breeze. The Torso handle personifies a sculpture of a sinuous body, almost like a frozen moment of nature. Material: Bronze

Nimbus door handle
Inspired by cloudy skies

In the immensity of the sky, we can contemplate the most varied patterns of this natural phenomenon, which scatters clouds like pieces of cotton and mixes them with contrasting tones, in the most different shapes and forms they are responsible for stunning natural effects scintillating rays and majestic thunderings. The Nimbus handle perpetuates the shapes of these rays drawn in the sky as if it had caught the moment when light tears heaven. Material: Bronze

Sifas: A small snippet on Kross Collection

“INSPIRED BY THE PAST TO DESIGN THE PRESENT”

Since its establishment during the 1950s, Sifas has sustained, over the entirety of its accumulations, a style that characterizes the period, a style both ageless and contemporary. The organization is enduringly pervaded with the progressive idea of living that at last brought light into homes, obscuring the limits among inside and outside and transforming the greenery enclosure into an outdoors living zone. In 2019, Sifas takes its motivation from its heartland — the Riviera—and from the locale’s wonder years. The home of Sifas is a famous occasion goal with stunning living arrangements that are masterworks of Belle Époque or pioneer design, a land supported by incredible craftsmen, painters, scholars, and performers, who refined imaginative vitality from the sentiment of opportunity noticeable all around. This motivating past that is a piece of the substance of the Côte d’azur has encouraged Sifas to reinterpret the lines of its latest collection.

Rustic simplicity and expressive quality describe this huge gathering that suits the front room, family room, feasting and bar regions. This excellent innovative creation in “ultra-light” manufactured aluminium enables it to oppose the most exceedingly terrible open air conditions. Let’s get inspired by this beautiful collection.

Contributing to Social Aspects of Design – Ar. Abin Chaudhuri

Abin Design Studio was established in October 2005 under the leadership of Abin Chaudhuri who graduated from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 1998. Before going solo, he has worked as a creative head for Lafarge and served as a director at Adler & Associates. He then went on to pursue Industrial Design at Domus Academy in Milan. He has also attended the Glenn Murcutt International Master Class 2014.

Abin fulfilled his aspiration of being involved in the design and construction of a public building with his very first project – The International Management Institute of Kolkata and has contributed to social aspects of design with assignments such as the Bamboo Pavilion, a temporary temple built as a shelter for the deity during a local festival, and the museum and academic research centre Nazrul Tirtha, which pays tribute to revolutionary poet Kazi Nazrul Islam by attempting to embody his philosophy through design.

Abin Design Studio believes that architecture is not merely about creation, it is about a search. From social aspects to the mechanics of space and forms, from the beauty of light and shadow to striking a harmony with nature, it is essentially a continuing process of discovery of cohesion in the world. The spirit of learning from everything around them is what keeps their fire burning.

They are constantly looking for projects that have scope for experimentation — dynamic explorations that allow them to realise the philosophy of providing a “soul in a shell.”

Over a span of ten years, their projects have earned numerous accolades. In 2014 their work was selected by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, for publication & a traveling exhibition.

We are honored to be a part of their esteemed projects and service their interior styling requirements.

Innovation & Sustainability with Architects Oscar & Ponni

Oscar & Ponni Concessao share a deep philosophical connection with architecture. They completed the B.Arch Degree from the Regional Engineering College, now NIT Tiruchirapalli in 1986, and 1987. They both hold a Master’s degree in Architecture. Oscar attended the University of Oklahoma, Norman and did his Master’s degree in Architecture in Urban Design while Ponni completed her Master’s in Architecture from Cornell University.

Architecture became their career choice as they wanted to become an integral part of the process that “creates the structures we inhabit; the spaces we fill; the rooms we visit”. They also went on to achieve a specialisation in Advanced Professional Studies from Harvard University — an indication of looking beyond design to ensure its success. They claim that a financial and business approach to projects is the need of the hour to compete in a global market.

They have been conferred with Honorary Doctorates from the University of Malaysia and University of Milano for Modern Architecture and Architectural Science and have both worked in New York City with leading architects specializing in Skyscrapers, Institutional buildings, Hotels, Hospitals and Stadiums after which they returned to India and started their Architectural and Interior design practice in 1996 – OCI Architects.

Their design philosophy focuses on timelessness, simplicity and functionality which has always been their guiding principle. They Believe magic happens when innovation, sustainability & creativity meets diligence & dedication. The Duo has received over 97 National, International and State awards for architecture and interiors and credits their success to an open-minded attitude towards design.

They have to their merit a number of educational campuses, townships and hospitality, residential, commercial projects along with an international sea facing luxury resort  in Swaraj Deep (erstwhile Havelock Island), Andaman Islands.

We are honoured to be able to service the requirements of OCI Architects and be a part of their esteemed projects.
